Belonging, identity, and the systems around us

So much of who we are is shaped by the spaces we move through — families, workplaces, cultures, and systems that were not always designed with us in mind. When those spaces do not reflect us, the strain can be hard to name.

When the problem is not you

It is easy to internalise a sense that something is wrong with us when we do not fit. Part of the work is untangling what is genuinely ours from what belongs to the systems around us — and recognising the resilience it takes to navigate them every day.

Making room for all of you

Identity is rarely one thing. Holding the different parts of who you are — and the tensions between them — with curiosity rather than judgment can be a quiet act of self-respect. Therapy can be a place to do that out loud, without having to explain or defend yourself first.
